Not Meant to Be

You, at first sight was like I'd thought you'd be,
Part of a dream, part of a fantasy.
You came to life out of the blue.
I thought dreams do come true.
We laughed, we talked, we became friends.
Knowing all along this will all end.
But when the end came it took me by surprise.
For you were gone without any goodbyes.
Often, I say to myself, "why couldn't you stay?"
But deep down I know it could not be that way.

So you're now gone.
And I'm all down.
But I'll realize that you and me
Were just not meant to be
