Standing on the sea-shore of life
I find myself alone
Without any friend or mate
Who can shoulder my load.
Here came I alone
And shall depart alone
Leaving all the words and deeds behind.
So long I was unconscious
I felt the soothing shade of company.
As I woke up I found none around
Heard no sweet song.
My soul told me :
O fool ! wait for none ;
Walk on your way,
For they move on theirs.
Your only friend is your lord.
So live for him and love him alone.
This is your only path,
Rest is illusion and unreal.
