Is there any ilah (god) with Allah?

Surah An-Naml(27) Ayah 60

Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!

A Spiritual Visitor

I swear by the heavens that there is a spiritual visitor each night. If only you knew this nightly visitor! It is like a star, whose brightness pierces the heart. Every soul has a guardian watching over it.

-Qur'an, At-Tariq, 86:1-4

The Reward of This World

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and a magnificent reward of the hereafter. Allah loves those who excel in good deeds.

-Qur'an, Al-Imran, Surah 3:148

 The Believers Are Tested

Surah Al-Ankabut(29) Ayah's 2-3

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.

And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).

Hadith

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "The people most severely tested are the Prophets, then the righteous, then the next best and the next best. A man will be tested in accordance with the degree of his religious commitment; the stronger his religious commitment, the stronger his test."

[Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi (7:78)]

Full Knowledge of Your Enemies

Allah has full knowledge of your enemies. Sufficient is He as your Protector, and sufficient is He to comfort you.

-Qur'an, An-Nisa, Surah 4:45

The Keys to All That is Hidden

He holds the keys to all that is hidden from perception; no one but Him has the knowledge thereof. He is aware of all that inhabit the land and dwell in the sea; he knows every leaf that falls. The tiniest grain in the darkest bowels of the earth, everything fresh or arid is recorded in a glorious book of records.

-Qur'an, Al-An'am, Surah 6:59

Who Will Restore Us to Life?

People ask: "After we have turned to bone and dust, shall we be restored to life?" I reply: "You will--even if you turn to stone or iron, or any other substance which you may think cannot be brought to life."

They ask: "Who will restore us to life?" I say: "You will be restored to life by the one who first created you."

-Qur'an, Al-Isra, 17:49-51

Oppression

 Sahih Bukhari
Volume 3, Book 43, Number 620:

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri (radiallaho unho):

Allah's Apostle (salallaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When the believers pass safely over (the bridge across) Hell, they will be stopped at a bridge in between Hell and Paradise where they will retaliate upon each other for the injustices done among them in the world, and when they get purified of all their sins, they will be admitted into Paradise. By Him in Whose Hands the life of Muhammad is everybody will recognize his dwelling in Paradise better than he recognizes his dwelling in this world."

When you plant a tree

When one of you plants a tree, the fruits of which all
creatures enjoy, let it be written as charity.

- The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam), as
reported by Anas bin Malik Hadith

Prayer

Sahih Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 762:
Narrated Abu Huraira (radiallaho unho):

Allah's Apostle (salallaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When the Imam says, "Sami' a-l-lahu Liman hamida," you should say, "Allahumma Rabbana laka-l-hamd." And if the saying of any one of you coincides with that of the angels, all his past sins will be forgiven."

 Sincerity and Sincere Advice

Tameem ad-Daaree radiallaahu `anhu said: The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said (three times): "The Deen is naseehah (sincerity and sincere advice)." We said: To whom? He said: "To Allaah, His Book, His Messenger and to the leaders of the Muslims and the general people."

[Related by Imaam Muslim in his Saheeh (no.55)]

In the Open And In Secret

Those who glorified Allah both in open and in secret will be the foremost to enter Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.

-The Prophet Muhammad, as reported by Abd'Allah ibn Abbas

This is the Way! Escape!

The stories of the prophets in the Qur'an sadden the soul within its prison. The captive soul seeks freedom from ignorance. Look to the prophets, those souls freed from bonds. Their voices call from within their religions, "This is the way! Escape! Escape! This is the way we escaped. There is no other way but our way."

-Rumi, "Mathnawi"

The Most Compassionate

Allah shall certainly reward those who believe in theirLord and all His messengers and do not make any distinction between them. Allah is the Most Compassionate, the Merciful.

-Qur'an, An-Nisa, Surah 4:152

Do Not Squander Your Wealth

Give to your close relatives what they need, and also give generously to the destitute and to wayfarers. Do not squander your wealth; those who are wasteful are the brothers and sisters of Satan—and Satan is always ungrateful to his Lord. But if, while waiting for the Lord's bounty, you are unable to help your relatives, the destitute and wayfarers, then at least speak kindly to them.

-Qur'an, Al-Isra, Surah 17:26-28

Words of Wisdom
Desire of The Sinners

Uthman ibn Affan, may God be pleased with him, said:
"The adultress would like it if all women committed adultery or fornication."

The reason is either:

  • that such people resent anyone standing out from them as a good example, or
  • that they are envious of her superiority and the praise she may attract, or
  • it may be that they do not want to give her a pretext to use against them.
