and internal…

times with water from the right hand…asking God to forgive sins
of deed or word committed knowingly or unknowingly.
- Washing the
nostrils three times… asking God for purity to enable the
worshippers to smell the sweetness of heaven.
- Washing the
face three times… asking for the darkness of sin to be removed
so that the worshipper can see God’s light.
- Washing the
right arm to the elbow three times… asking to receive the
records of the worshipper’s deeds in the right hand on the Day
of Judgement.
- Washing the
left arm to the elbow three times… asking not to receive the
record in the left hand.
- Washing the
head with the inner side of the fingers once… asking for the
worshippers head to be covered with mercy.
- With
forefingers in the ear, wash the back of ears with the thumbs…
asking that the worshipper should only wish to hear good and
not evil.
- Washing the
back of the neck once… asking that suffering may not hang
around the neck.
- Washing the
right foot to the ankle… asking that the worshipper should be
led in the path of the righteousness.
- Washing the
left foot to the ankle… asking that the worshipper should not
be led in to the paths of hell.
