I wonder...
I sat silent in the darkness of my room.
The gentle breeze lifted the curtains white,
letting the soft silver moonlight peep in.
I had sat there a long time...remembering, thinking of tomorrow.
I had seen her this morning, standing by the rocky shore.
The waves kissing her bare feet, the wind lifting her silken scarf.
Floating high as if reaching for the sky,
her dark hair playing with the air.
The sunlight touched her tender skin,
so fair that she glowed like a dream.
Her head held high, her eyes closed she stood
everything bowing to her feet!
Like a goddess, like a myth!
I stood frozen to the spot, afraid to reach out.
I closed my eyes to summon courage, to venture on, to touch her.
I opened to look again, she was gone--Vanished!
I ran to find, to seek her but all in vain.
sitting in my room at this untimely hour,
I wonder...
