Once Hazrat Umar Farooq(radiyallahu anhu) went to the Mosque and saw that a
man was preaching Deen(religion) in the mosque to a gathering in a very loud
voice which could be heard out of the mosque. Hazrat Umar Farooq(radiyallahu
anhu) asked that preacher to preach as loudly as it was necessary for the
listeners present around him. He(radiyallahu anhu) threatened to use his
whip on him if his voice exceeded the limit. If Hazrat Umar
Farooq(radiyallahu anhu) had lived in our days none of us would have escaped
his whip.
The room of Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqah(radiyallahu anha's) was adjacent to the
Prophet's mosque where he lies buried. It was Hazrat Ayesha(radiyallahu
anha)'s routine to take rest there, after the Friday prayer. A preacher used
to call at that place and preach Deen(religion) very loudly. Hazrat Ayesha (radiyallahu
anha) sent words to that preacher asking him to preach as loudly as it was
necessary for his listeners. The preacher did not mind Hazrat
Ayesha(radiyallahu anha)'s advice on the plea that he was only preaching
Deen. Hazrat Ayesha (radiyallahu anha) made a complaint to Hazrat Umar
Farooq (radiyallahu anhu) against that preacher and demanded that he should
be stopped from his troublesome practice by lowering his voice.
The Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him)'s
Teachings
The Holy Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him) has always taught us the
right course of Deen (Islam), although we have misunderstood and forgotten
his teachings. Look! He is getting up for the Tahajjud prayer, but what
etiquette does he follow, while getting up ftom his bedding? It occurs in a
Hadith: "He got up quietly and opened the door quietly". Why so!
Lest Ayesha Siddiqah(radiyallahu anha), may be disturbed in her sleep - that
Ayesha siddiqah(radiyallahu anha), who was ready to sacrifice even her life
for every command and gesture of her dear husband, the Holy Prophet(peace
and blessings be upon him), Not withstanding that, the Prophet(peace and
blessings be upon him) of Allah is teaching us that even if we are going to
do some act of worship we should never do this in a way that others may, be
put to inconvenience and be disturbed.
This is the way of discharging the rights of servants of Allah which His
Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him) has taught us; but what is our
behaviour? If we do some good deed, some act of Deen, we consider it
necessary to show it to the entire world without ever considering that some
one is sleeping, ailing seriously or busy with some worship. It never
occcurs to anyone that he is committing a grievous sin by this misbehaviour
and is violating a "human right".
"A Muslim is he, who does not harm other Muslims through his
tongue or hand".
