Guantanamo Bay: A mirro of our Ummah's Reality

Follow the news of the oppression, compulsion, degradation, and estrangement through which our Mujahideen brothers live in the enemy prisons - be it the ongoing ordeal of our Sheikh Omar Abdur-Rahman in America or that of our Mujahideen brothers in Guantanamo Bay at the hands of the American enemy Crusaders or our brothers in Occupied Palestine at the hands of the Zionists or our brothers in Arab countries (such as Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan etc) at the hands of the world's apostate organizations or our brothers in other Western and Asian countries - may Allah release them all from captivity and grant them victory, by His permission.

Follow their news, and you will understand well the equation which underlies our conflict with the enemy, and it will thereby close all his doors of political maneuver which are known to deceive the Islamic Ummah, and envelop it under the screen of various veils, i.e. the 'War Against Terror', the 'establishment of peace', 'International Law', 'the eradication of violence', 'Freedom' and the like. This they achieve through the endeavors of their loyal agents - which betray that they are parrots, fools and cowards – and the secret enemies of the Ummah, who have been exposed following the pressure of recent events, under two delusions:

Firstly, that the enemy is about to destroy the 'Independent Mujahideen' – as they have been described by the hypocritical, Zionist, Arab-American media. It is this media which transmits false news about the real course of war, using such expressions in their journalism as, "tracking the Taliban and Al-Qaida groups" and "the defeat and flight of the Taliban"; baseless expressions, which deceive neither the normal person nor the open-minded, about the reality of events; expressions which now cause embarrassment to the enemy upon their mention, for his repeated failure and running around in vicious circles do nothing but add to the exposition of his underlying plan.

It is as if the enemy's primary spokesman in the Arab and Islamic countries carries out his deceptive work with the allegiance of an agent, the devotion of an imbecile, and the precision of a fool; work at which the enemy failed and was incapable, despite the abundant media ammunition in its power.

For this reason, the Ummah must become fully aware of such journalistic deceit, must distinguish between truth and falsehood, and must implement the order of Allah,

Secondly, that this is the last of the enemy's debts which it has saved to use in calamities, i.e. the last shot it can call - (look, for example, at the Al-Saud peace initiative). However, Allah the Exalted has mentioned these treacherous people in the Quran, in the context of preparing force to terrorise the enemy, as He says,

The suffering of our imprisoned brothers contributes greatly to the elimination of the obscurities which surround the enemy schemes

their true goals, their thought strategy, their politics, and their society which is characterized by ignorance, inhumanity, oppression, immorality, and hostility towards anything Islamic, thus confirming the statement of Allah the Almighty:

This is decisive confirmation of the correctness of Jihad organizations, and of the delusions of organizations which yield to the commands of the enemy.

The case of our brothers who are captured in Guantanamo Bay, in Palestine and America, and in other Arab, Western and Asian countries, will always remain-by the Permission of Allah - a stimulus to the consciences of the Ummah. It will remain the lightening of Jihad, which will ignite the Ummah's Islamic awareness and will release the hoards of social, spiritual and Jihad-channeled sentiments from the storehouses of the souls, so that the Ummah once again bears its legal, present, and historical responsibility. Their case will occupy its place within the problems of the World in general and Islam in particular, and will play a political, military, and security role in fighting the enemy, to win the freedom of the Ummah and its prisoners.

What is required is that all our brothers in the world undertake immediate action to prepare and establish a culture of politics and Jihad, which will determine the way the Ummah thinks and feels about its real problems. It will also activate its role in reality, through educational and stimulating exercises, which will frame the Jihad culture, and will embed the true meanings of allegiance, brotherhood, and unity, in the souls of the Muslims.

Thus, the main questions we will attempt to answer in this article will be a) what the significance of Guantanamo Bay is and what the goals of the American enemy are.

The callous way in which our brothers imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay are treated, clearly embodies the political reality of the Islamic Ummah. The Ummah is presently imprisoned, and will continue to be so in the future, if it does not start fighting for its freedom. Its organizations, scholars and intellectuals are actually and metaphorically imprisoned, and its politicians submit to the hegemony of the American and Zionist Enemy.

As can be seen from the media coverage, Guantanamo Bay is - to its prisoners – a form of barbiturate or narcotic, which shackles the hands and feet, which blindfolds the eyes, and which deafens the ears; he who is administered this drug becomes deprived of all thought, movement, speech, sight, or hearing, or even living in the warmth of proximity to their fellow 'patients'. Thus, it is the problem of the entire Ummah, not only of our imprisoned brothers. Every one of us lives through a form of the tragedy and oppression of Guantanamo in our general lives, depending on the strength of their faith, economic status, and social and political standing. This is due to the power and predominance of the disbelievers over the Muslims, and the authority of their man-made laws; laws which conflict with the tolerant teachings of Islam, and which scorn the ties of belief and brotherhood which bond the Muslim to his imprisoned brothers, as was stated in the Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), "You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it." [Bukhari]

According to this Hadith, whoever does not share in these feelings must inspect his soul, because there is an alarm bell ringing, warning about the level of his faith, the soundness of his mind and the purity of his feelings. It is a strong indication of his lack of understanding of the concepts of the Unity of Allah, love and hate for the sake of Allah, brotherhood, honor, and dignity - in other words, it is a strong indication that he has died, but his burial has been delayed. This is because abidance by our honorable Shariah - the peak of which is the protection and preservation of the Religion - is not a choice in which some aspects may be accepted and some rejected, as is done by some of those who are Muslims only by name. Rather, true preservation of the Religion is manifest by preserving the structure of humanity which is within our Religion, and by directing the spiritual and political body of the Ummah to be, as was mentioned in the Hadith. Thus, Iman (faith) becomes meaningless if it does not crystallize to the level of action within the human social and political structure. By this the Islamic Khilafah will be established, and will base all of its dealings upon its Faith in Allah and the Final Day, and all of its relationships upon the doctrine of love and hate for the Sake of Allah – thus will our promise of loyalty to the Believers be fulfilled.

Based on this, it is therefore incumbent upon every believer - due to this promise of loyalty - to live through the trials of their imprisoned brothers. This should occur in their daily lives, in

which there is a constant struggle against the desires and lusts of the lower self, and the whisperings of the devils amongst jinn and mankind. Through such sufferings, the believer will come to understand well the reality of his enemy and the nature of his actions, and will thus benefit from this experience. He will comprehend the enemy's contractual, political, military, and security agendas with his own mind, emotions, nerves, body, soul and being. By doing so, and by the Will of Allah, the believer will not forget this lesson, as is the habit of man. Only then can we begin to say that the Ummah has begun its fight for liberation.

The Enemy Crusaders have chosen to detain our brothers in prison in Guantanamo Bay, for the following reasons:

Security: As a direct result of the Mujahideen attack on New York, and the losses it is suffering in the land of Free, Muslim Afghanistan, the enemy has begun to lose confidence in its own security measures. For this reason, it has chosen the secluded Guantanamo base to detain the Muslims, that it may reduce part of the hefty cost of security; for due to its open war against the Muslims, it is under attack in all areas of the world. This leaves it free to try to study the Mujahideen's movements, and to try to salvage the situation quickly, were they to perform another Jihad operation or war.

Politics: To hide away from the watchful eyes of the Intellectuals - both in America and abroad - and their protests at the barbaric treatment of the Islamic prisoners, which is worse than the treatment of animals in the wild the law of the forest known to animals is better and more humane than the barbaric American policy. However, the presence of the Muslim Mujahid prisoner in America or Afghanistan serves their just cause, because it is a good opportunity to bring to light the savagery of the enemy, and to illustrate their own noble and libertarian goals.

This is not to say that their presence in Guantanamo Bay doesn't also serve their cause. On the contrary, it serves it more than the enemy can possibly imagine, for through their experience, our brothers learn how to deal with the enemy - whether it is in withstanding their savagery and barbarity, or in recruiting and inciting the Ummah, or in calling the hesitant soldiers to rebel and to prefer prison over death, like the Zionist soldiers in Occupied Palestine, or in informing the people that Bush is only out for his own interests (like election for a second term in Office) and that he is oblivious to the suffering of his poor soldiers, or in addressing the American nation by the language it understands, and warning it against standing by Bush because they will be the main losers, for their President is hidden in his house surrounded by bodyguards.

Psychology: The enemy has been struck by a new epidemic which goes by the name of 'Al- Qaida and the Taliban', such that every American and Zionist feels panic, terror, and hysteria when they hear its name. Our great Messenger (peace be upon him) spoke the truth when he said, "I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy) for the distance of a month's journey." [Bukhari]

Thus, terror in our true Religion is considered as one of Allah's soldiers to whom He that grants authority over the enemy. In contrast, He grants the believer tranquility and makes his soul serene.

Thus, despite the tragedy of the affair, the position of our brothers in Guantanamo is a lot better than that of their jailers, because they have trust in the Victory of their Lord, and they know well that the trials of prison and the enemy's torture to them are all requisites of the Path of Truth, following the example of the Prophets, Messengers, Martyrs, and the Righteous. Through such examples, they find peace with the Decree of Allah, and their prayer or recitation of the Quran suffices them, and enables them to regain their psychological strength and stability which the enemy is so desperately trying to remove from them.

As for the jailers - they live in terror and fear, despite the occasional brainwashing they are exposed to by their psychiatrists and psychologists who try to convince them of the importance of their dirty task, and who try to boost their fallen morale’s, and to dispel their fears which overcome them whenever any of the Mujahideen makes a single move - to the extent that they sense unease even at the sight of a turban on the head of one of our brothers, thinking that there is a bomb hidden under it, so they rush to remove it from his head.

Intelligence: To gain knowledge, by means of their brutal torture, of what characterizes the organizational structure of Al-Qaida and the Taliban. However, this is an impossible goal, even if they were to capture the very leaders of Al-Qaida or the Taliban - and this they will never be able to do, by the Permission of Allah - because the path of Jihad is continuous, and by the Permission of Allah will never stop, because its activity is propelled by a force outside the realm of material force known to politicians, and

this is what America and its allies and all those who have material intentions and aspirations, will never comprehend.

Such a realm of force is always to the Muslim's advantage, if he stays close to his Lord and holds fast to his Religion. And in contrast, it is to Satan's disadvantage, who is embodied by the American enemy because he opposes the universal Law of Allah, and our Lord spoke the truth when He said,

Military: Principally, the military aim is to frighten anyone who opposes American policy - but the Mujahideen will not be frightened, for they only fear their Lord - and to demonstrate their power and military achievement by taking some Mujahideen as prisoner. At the same time, they are keeping them in reserve for more difficult times to come, when the need and necessity may arise to exchange them for any American soldiers who are taken as prisoner inside or outside Afghanistan.

Experiments: To experiment on the Mujahideen with the following aims in mind:

a) Discovering the make-up of the Mujahideen - i.e. do they possess any special biological, neurological or psychological characteristics which distinguish them from those who have surrendered? This they do under the cover of gaining new knowledge about DNA, and with the claim that such knowledge will enable them, in the future, to restrain the Mujahideen if they are freed from prison and undertake more military Operations against the enemy.

b) Discovering new forms of drugs, and using our brothers as the subjects of their experiments. This they can do only because there is nobody observing the treatment of the prisoners. Such experiments, however, lead to bodily deformities, mental and psychological derangement, paralysis, death, or unknown diseases or to other things known only to Allah, the Exalted.

Based on what has been said, Guantanamo Bay has been a total failure with regards to the enemy Crusader's goals - whether disclosed or secret. It has led to a loss in credibility amidst their leaders and scholars, and their plan has backfired. Our Lord spoke the truth when he said in His wise book,
