1. ALLAH says " They
(Jews and Christians) took their ulemas (rabbis,
scholars and monks etc) to be their lords besides Allah and they also
took as their lord Messiah, son of Maryam ".[ Soorah Taubah (9) :Ayah 31 ]
In this ayah Allah declares that the Jews & Christians had taken the
following people as their lords (Ra'b) besides Allah:
1) Their Ulemas (rabbis, scholars & monks etc)
2) Messiah, son of Maryam [elia salam]
Their worship of Messiah is well known, but how did they take their
ulemas as their lords, Alhamdullilah this is explained in the
following hadith:
2. When
Adi bin Hatim (r.a) { who was a Christian} accepted Islam, he
inquired from the Prophet ( s.a.w) : " we do not worship our ulemas (
rabbis or monks) Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said : ' whatever they said was halaal
you consider it halaal , whatever they said was haraam you considered it
haraam , in this manner you have made them as your lords" .
[Tirmizi shareef, Tafseer soorah Taubah, Sanad: Saeeh].
Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) explained that you have taken them as your
lords by following their religious ruling blindly, in order to
following any religous ruling we must have clear prove from Allah or
his Apostle (s.a.w).
Now we should be beware after reading the below hadith:
3.Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)
said: " You will definitely follow the people
before you step by step so much that if they entered a lizard 's hole,
you would follow in this also"
The companions of the Prophet (r.a) asked: " Do you mean the Jews and
Christians"
Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) replied: " Who else"
[Saeeh Buhkari, Kitab ul Ethesaam]
We must be careful regarding this matter, as the Prophet (s.a.w) told
us we would be following the Jews & Christians.
One of the signs of the last hour is the below:
4. Abu Wa'il reported:
I was sitting with 'Abdullah and Abu Musa that
they reported Allah's Messenger (s.a.w) having said: Prior to the Last
Hour, there would be a time when knowledge would be taken away, and
ignorance would take its place and there would be bloodshed on a large
scale.
[Saeeh Muslim, Kitab ul Ilm]
Prophet Muhammad tells us that Ilm (knowledge) would be taken away by
Allah, he also explains how Allah will do that.
5. 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b.
al-'As reported Allah's Messenger (s.a.w) as
saying: Verily, Allah will not take away knowledge by snatching it
from the people but he will take away knowledge by taking away the
scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people will make
ignorant as their,leaders; then they will ask religious verdicts and
they would deliver them without knowledge, they would be misguided,
and misguide people aswell.
[Saeeh Muslim, Kitab ul Ilm]
After reading this following hadith, it is compulsory for us to ask
proof from Quran & Sunnah regarding any religious matter or else we
too might be destined to hell.
Start reading translation of Quran , Saeeh Bukhari & Saeeh Muslim, as
these books are the easiest source of Islam for us.
