Duaa at the
time of seeing the new moon
When one sees the crescent of the 1st of the month, then say:
"Allahu Akbar, Allahumma ahillahu `alaina bil amni
wal iemaani, was salaamati wal Islaami, wat taufeeqi lima
tuhibbu Rabbana wa tarda, Rabbuna wa Rabbukallahu."
Allah is the Greatest, O Allah ! Take out this moon upon
us with blessing and Imaan(faith), peace and Islam and with
the ability to do all those actions with which You are
pleased. O moon! My and your Lord is Allah.
or Make the folowing Duaa:
" Allahummar zuqnaa khai-rahu wa-nasrahu
wabara-katahu waftahu wa- nu-rahu wa-na'oo-dhu-bika min
sharri-hi wa-sharri maa ba'dahu."
" O Allah ! Grant us the goodness,help, blessing, victory
and noor(light) of this month and we seek Thy protection from
it's evil and from the evil of that which is after that."
Duaa to be made
when looking at the moon
When looking towards the moon say the following:
"A'oozu billaahi min sharri haadhal ghaasiq"
I seek the refuge of Allah from the evil of this drowning
moon.
