all
eyes have shut in deep slumber
the stars have risen high above the sky
You, Dear Allah, Ruler of the universe
forever Awake and forever Alive
all kings have locked their doors
and the guards have taken on their roles
but Your Door remains wide open
for beggars and seekers and helpless souls
i come to You, oh Ilahi
please regard me with Your Compassion
Dear Allah, Most Loving of all who love
Who answers the plea of a servant in desperation
Dear Allah Who shelters him from
danger, adversity and disease
even Your messengers earn a night's repose
while my Dear Allah, Al-Qayyum,
never sleeps.

O Rabb,
the night has passed and the day has dawned
how i long to know if You have accepted my prayers
or if You have rejected them
therefore console me,
for it is Yours to console this state of mine
You have given me life and cared for me,
and Yours is the Glory
if You drive me away from Your Door
yet would i not forsake it for the love
that i bear in my heart towards You.
