1) Al Waswasa: Whispering

114:5 "From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws
(after his whisper),-

The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind, - Among Jinns and
among men."

7:20 "Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing
openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them
(before): he said: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, lest ye
should become angels or such beings as live for ever"

2) Al Ighraa: Temptation

6:112 "Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy,- evil ones
among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by
way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have
done it: so leave them and their inventions alone.

3) Al Nazegh: Evil provocation

41:36 "And if (at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee
by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and
knows all things".


12:100 ". And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity),
and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him. He said: "O my
father! This is the fulfillment of my vision of old! Allah hath made
it come true! He was indeed good to me when He took me out of prison
and brought you (all here) out of the desert, (even) after Satan had
sown enmity between my brothers and me. Verily my Lord understandeth
best the mysteries of all that He planneth to do, for verily He is
full of knowledge and wisdom".

17:53 "Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things
that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: For Satan
is to man an avowed enemy".

Usually in salat or any other ibadaat

4) ih'aa: Inspiring

6:121 "Eat not of (meats) on which Allah.s name hath not been
pronounced: That would be impiety. But the evil ones ever inspire
their friends to contend with you if ye were to obey them, ye would
indeed be Pagans".

5) Al Mass; Touching

7:201 "Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan
assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright

6) Al Tamanni: Wishing you to do something

4:120 ". Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false
desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception"

Al Tasweef: Divert from good deed by alternative good thought


2:168-169 "O ye people! Eat of what is on earth, Lawful and good; and
do not follow the footsteps of the evil one, for he is to you an
avowed enemy For he commands you what is evil and shameful, and that
ye should say of Allah that of which ye have no knowledge.

7) Al Tazeen: To glamorize your bad deed (i.e. make you think that bad things are good)

8:48 "Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them,
and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am
near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he
turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what
ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment."

27:24 "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah.
Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept
them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance"

8) Al Istifzaaz (amali & qawli): To excite through sayings and actions

17:64 "Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy
(seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy
infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make
promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit"

9) Al Iqtiraan (al qareen): Become your Qareen, your companion 24hrs a day

43:36-37 "If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of ((Allah))
Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate
companion to him. Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path,
but they think that they are being guided aright!

50:27 "His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him
transgress, but he was (himself) far astray."

10) Al Fitna: Cause trouble between you and others

7:27 "O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same
manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of
their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you
from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones
friends (only) to those without faith.
