1. Rasulullah (SAW) said:
"You do not have (complete) Imaan until I am more
beloved to you than your father, children and the rest of Mankind." (Mishkaat).
2. Rasulullah (SAW) said:
“He who revives my sunnah (makes effort to bring my
sunnah alive in mankind) certainly loves me and he who loves me will be with
me in Jannah.” (Targheeb)
3. Rasulullah (SAW) said:
“Verily the closest person to me on the Day of
Qiyamah is one who sent the most Durood upon me.” (Tirmizi)
Hassan bin Thabit (R.A) says:
“More beautiful than you has my eyes never seen
More handsome than you no mother has ever conceived
You have been created free from all blemishes, created as
though you have been created as you wished. (Shamail Tirmizi)
Commentary:
Love for Rasulullah (SAW) is an essential component of Imaan. No believer can
claim to have true and perfect Imaan unless he loves Allah Ta'ala and
Rasulullah (SAW) more than anything else. Today we strongly fulminate and
claim to have great love for Rasulullah (SAW). However, this claim has to be
supported by a proof. Certain proof of this claim is close emulation of the
lifestyle shown to us by Rasulullah (SAW). This was a quality which was deeply
entrenched in the lives of the Sahaaba (R.A.). It was thus that the Quraan
Shareef address them most glowingly as, Radiallahu anhum waradu anhu. (Allah
Ta'ala was pleased with them and they were pleased with him.)
